Last night, Google brought to light its 5th brand new redesigned iconic logo since its inception in 1998. Google has evolved itself, right from their range of products to its stylized logo’s feel, and once again they’ve done it. But what are the reasons behind the change? Read on here:
Alphabet
The search engine giant recently carried out a massive corporate change. The establishment of Alphabet – an entity that will oversee all other Google companies such as Gmail and YouTube, took place as a part of this process. With the new design, Google is opting for a similar style with a ‘Sans-Serif’ font type. This ensures the uniformity between Google and Alphabet.
Smoother Design
The previous Logo of Google was more of a serious, flatter design with more business-like professional look. Yes, it was slick but it also displayed that it belonged to a big multi-billion dollar corporate company. But the new Google logo is vivid, smoother and cool with its round edges. The angle of the letter “e”, which is slightly inclined, adds to the beauty of the logo.
Brand New Elements
New elements like a colorful Google mic will help you identify and interact with Google whether you’re talking or typing. To add to that, Google is no more attached to that little blue “g” icon. It has been replaced with a four-color “G” that matches the new redesigned logo.
Suitability
Since 1999, the world has changed much. As a Google spokesperson said, this is the world of multiple screens and Google wants a logo that is suitable for all screens. That’s one of the prime reasons for developing a new logo which will suit all type of screens.
Lovely Animation
Keeping aside the basic idea of having a static logo, Google animated its latest logo in a way that it syncs with the users. As a source from Google says, the animation is a way of Google thanking its users and also it ensures the fact that Google is working for its users indeed.
Low Speed Connections
Google, also called as the Search Engine Giant, is used across the world on different type of networks including superfast 4G networks as well as slow 2G connections. Google’s team has said that the earlier logo required it to render a new lightweight logo whenever the users accessed the search engine on a low speed connection like 2G. The old logo weighed over 14,000 bytes and new the one weighs just 305 bytes, which made it convenient for users to access Google even in lower speed connections.
With a mixed response from all over the world, the Google’s new logo is still a vase of excitements and refreshing new options. And as the saying goes, Change cannot be stopped, so is the renovation.
