Birthday treats are a given at echoVME; and when it was our Thinker – in – Chief Sorav Jain’s turn, he pulled out all the stops for his birthday! (Oh we are so happy he did!)
The venue for this treat was decided as Deccan Plaza, Royapettah – which none of us knew until we reached the place! (yep, it was kept a secret until the very moment we took a turn to get into the grand entrance of the hotel!)
Deccan plaza is a great place which embodies the old world charm & seamlessly flows into the modern! Needless to say, we loved the place! And the food? Just fantastic! We definitely recommend it for those who love vegetarian food! It was a lavish spread with more than 20 varieties of mouth watering delicacies & included Chinese, Italian, North Indian & South Indian cuisine! (Yummm)
Here is our pick of the 20 most delicious things at a vegetarian buffet spread!
(Say cheers!) The mocktail served was fresh, tangy & tasted like summer in a cup!
2. The Spicy Sautéed Beet Root!
It was the most ignored dish until one of us gave it a try, after that there was no stopping the team from trying it!
3. Corn Pakoda!
Ever heard of corn pakoda? We have! And it was deee-lee-shush!
4. Hot Hot Bajjis!
That too from a live counter, it hit the spot! What more needs to be said? Oh yes – Yummy!
5. French Fries!
Ok, so everybody loves fries that’s just crunchy on the outside & soooffft on the inside don’t we? The fries seerved here had an added flavour to it – it was fried with awesome podi powder that just added to the taste!
6. The Veg Pasta!
The creamy white sauce pasta had just the right amount of oomph in it to make us drool! Needless to say we went in for seconds & even third helpings for it!
7. Pineapple Noodles!
I know most of you will be going “Hhheiiinn?” but it was definitely, most definitely very tasty!
8. Mushroom Manchurian Gravy!
Need we say more?
9. For the Bread Basket!
Or rather the butter naan basket (nope, we don’t like our rotis & naan plain!) the perfect accompaniment was the lauki kaali mirch! It was delsih with the hot pepper hitting at the right spots!
10. The Malai Kofta!
This was a hit amongst the ladies who wanted to try all the food! The guys being the gentlemen, decided to eat more of what they liked instead!
11. Aloo Gobi Chilli Fry!
(Please wipe the drool off your chin!)
12. South Indian Sambhar Rice!
Mix that with the ghee & podi they provided & you’ll have “died & came back from heaven feels!”
13. Dum Biryani!
Who says veg dum biryanis are not fun? Mouth watering would be an understatement!
14. Ada Paayasam!
A delicacy from Kerala. This must be what the Gods ate? I dunno, I’m just guessing!
15. Melt in the mouth Kesari!
Nevermind that we were almost (almost) full at this point. But hey, we found kesari! Yes it literally melted in our mouths!
16. Pineapple Burfi!
This was the day we realized that pineapple has been quite underrated fruit when it comes to desserts. Because, oh. My. God. We weren’t able to!
17. Chocolate Mousse Cake
We were almost weak in the knees from having so much food but then we realized we couldn’t possible leave out the mousse, can we? (hell, no!)
18. Chocolate cake!
So we pretty much ignored our stomach’s plea for help & dived right into the rich chocolaty scrumptious – ness!
19. Dry Jamun!
Gobble-di-gobble! Yes, it went into our mouths that quick!
20. Butterscotch Ice cream!
Yeah, we screamed! And probably shed an emotional tear or two while eating it! Probably! We’re not telling you if it really happened! 😉
Well with this, I’d like to sum it up saying it will definitely one of the best moments of my time in echoVME. Something I will cherish for the rest of my days I’m sure! Thank you to the most coolest boss ever – Sorav Jain! May you have many more happy birthday filled with joy, health & happiness!
And so we wait until the next treat! 😉
