The day unfolded beautifully for me to celebrate on July 5th. One, being my birthday itself and the other being first day of my first job. Wishes flowing in endlessly from family and friends, it seemed to be a perfect day to start my career. One of my friends was even confused what to wish me for- a great birthday or a great day at work! All in all, the day was pretty awesome and I couldn’t have asked for a better gift J !
echoVME gave me a warm friendly welcome to be a part of their family. With pleasant introductions to Richa, Swetha, Naganathan and Vernicia, the day 1 began on a warm note. The first few hours were ice-breaking sessions, getting to know everybody and everything about the work culture, awesome powernaps, Powercut training sessions and so much more! Really seemed like a cool place to work with!
After all the frivolities, I started on my first assignment. It was some writing that I was doing and I got into it immediately. During lunch time, I had lunch with Priya and came to know more about the history of the company. How Sorav had conceived the idea and how echoVME was born. Seemed like a pretty interesting story and then we chatted away to glory J about other things.
Towards evening we came together for opinion poll with Sorav to discuss and share views, opinions on a couple of work related topics. After which came the best surprise for me, rather should I say, surprise for everybody!
The slight confusion of the day was the echoVME team never really knew that it was my birthday that day as the mail of introduction from a fellow colleague out of office was misunderstood as a welcome to my first day. The minute they got to know it was my birthday, it was like an aftershock of an earthquake. They scolded me for not telling them earlier but it was still fun watching the unfolding of events and their POA.
In the end, after a few quick shopping stops, Vernicia and Richa bought the yummiest chocolate cup cakes to celebrate. Sorav and Priya brought a cute gift while Naganathan captured all happy moments of the birthday party. I really loved my birthday gift which was – a puppy dog welcoming meJinto echoVME. All I can say is it was the best birthday for me yet. Looking forward to more interesting days like this @echovme.
